For over four decades Memorial stadium served as the home of both Baltimore's baseball and football teams. In addition is was the place many a Baltimore sports fan grew-up, cheered, and shared countless memories within her brick and concrete confines. Compared to her modern day descendants, Memorial stadium was obsolete, lacking the benefits today's venues offer. But in the days when the game was more important than the where it was played, the place hummed with it's own magic. And now that it has faded in to the past, Memorial Stadium stand only our memories where it will be as we remembered it on warm summer evenings or crisp fall Sundays. This the story of when the past must give way to present, the slow end of a place that had become a relic of a gloried past.

This tribute is the result of over two years work, and encompasses over 600 pages. This is not a web site that you can see in its entire in one session. I would suggest book marking this site for future reference. I have included a time line feature for your convenience if you want to find a specific time period. As always I do love to read about my visitors own personal memories and questions. Although things have changed in my personal life over the past two years I still do try to respond to all messages.

Enjoy!
